MOUNTAIN SUN - BEER - BEER LIST - HOUSE ALES

These are the classis Mountain Sun Ales. You can expect to find these eight beers on tap at our pubs on a regular basis.

BLACKBERRY WHEAT
The Blackberry Wheat is one of our best selling beers. Having brewed Raspberry Wheat for years, we decided to mix it up a bit and put a new twist on an old favorite. Light in body, pink in color, and full of berry aroma, this beer boasts over 250 pounds of blackberry puree per batch.
OG: 1.050    ABV: 5.25%

OLD SCHOOL IRISH STOUT
Our classic Dry Irish Stout utilizes a traditional malt profile based on 2-row and roasted barley with the addition of flaked barley to increase body, sweetness, and head retention. A small addition of East Kent Golding hops are added at the beginning of boil to balance the malt sweetness.
OG: 1.055    ABV: 5.6%

COLORADO KIND ALE
This is the original Rocky Mountain hoppy amber ale. It boasts a unique combination of toasty caramel malt with the classic Cascade hop flavor and aroma. Amber drinkers may discover a surprisingly approachable, sweet, but hoppy beer. "Just ask for a pint of 'the dank'." Colorado Kind Ale won a Silver Medal at the 2011 Great American Beer Festival
OG: 1.058    ABV: 6.3%

XXX PALE ALE
XXX is a Mountain Sun classic! Not one to conform to style guidelines, XXX is made with a combination of American and European malts, and boasts prominent hop bitterness. Pleasant malt sweetness and the citrusy aroma of American hops balance this Strong American Pale Ale.
OG: 1.072    ABV: 5.6%

ISADORE JAVA PORTER
Our trademark coffee porter is infused with our own special roasted organic fair-trade coffee from Conscious Coffees in Boulder. In order to get the right balance of flavor, we introduce the coffee to the finished beer as we transfer it to the conditioning tank in the cooler. The day before we transfer the fermented beer, we steep the coarsely ground coffee in a five gallon bucket of cold water; thus creating a "cold toddy". Once the grounds have steeped overnight, we strain them and add the potent coffee brew to the serving tank before we fill it with the porter. The resultant brew is considerably caffeinated. Don't drink it too late at night; you might end up watching the sunrise!
OG: 1.058    ABV: 5.0%

ANNAPURNA AMBER
Annapurna Amber is a decidedly malty, mild, and approachable beer. Containing 5 different kinds of caramel malt, this American Amber is balanced by a moderate dose of Crystal hops.
OG: 1.056    ABV: 5.4%

QUINN'S GOLDEN ALE
Named after the late, great, Quinn the Dog, (not the Eskimo). Quinn's is easily the most approachable beer that we make. It has very little hop character and a very mellow malt presence.
OG: 1.050    ABV: 4.8%

ILLUSION DWELLER IPA
Our English-Style IPA has a "biscuity" malt profile due to the use of toasted specialty malts and a floral aroma from East Kent Golding hops, which are much different than their citrusy American counterparts. It doesn't come across nearly as bitter or aromatic as the American-Style IPA, but we assure you that Illusion Dweller has plenty of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. Illusion Dweller IPA won a Silver Medal at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival
OG: 1.068    ABV: 6.9%

FYIPA
FYIPA is our most popular IPA. This massive American style IPA features four different American hop varieties that blend together to form an intensely aromatic and flavorful ale. Four kettle additions and one huge dose of dry hops make this beer citrusy and resinous throughout. Although this beer is "all about the hops," most people find it surprisingly balanced.
OG: 1.066    ABV: 6.5%
